The local counter records page views and short-lived anonymous browser sessions. It stores no raw IP, precise GPS, query strings or referring-page URLs, and respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. “Right now” means a visible page checked in during the last 90 seconds. Location examples are explicitly labeled and never enter the real counter.
The review server resolves public IPs locally using DB-IP. When city metadata is available it keeps an approximate city name and coordinates rounded to one decimal degree; otherwise it uses a state/province representative point from Natural Earth. Raw IPs, postal codes and the original unrounded coordinates are discarded. Bell, Telus and other providers use the same lookup; their carrier names do not establish a visitor’s location. VPNs and mobile networks can place a connection in the wrong region; unresolved and local connections stay unmapped. This collector is not deployed on the public site. Historical and new-site traffic stay separately labeled; the counter combines the confirmed 78,373 historical views with new recorded views. Historical country aggregates are purple diamonds. White city landmarks are reference geography with no visitor counts.
